Christine Gould is an Advanced Hypnotherapist, Counsellor, Spiritual Healer, Cold Laser Therapist, Author, Lecturer and International Reiki Master Teacher who has made many BBC Radio broadcasts and is a former television presenter. With over thirty-three years’ experience working in Private Practice and for most of those in the National Health Service (NHS), Christine is an accomplished holistic and complementary therapist based in Northampton, United Kingdom.
With her background in education, experience as a therapist and teaching the original Usui Shiki Ryoho System of Natural Healing for twenty-five years, you can be assured Christine Gould provides thorough, in-depth and exceptional training.
After leaving school Christine trained as a primary school teacher and later specialised working with youngsters of all ages who exhibited learning, emotional or behavioural problems. This influenced her to explore Neuro Linguistic Programming and was the basis of her thesis for a Master of Arts Degree in Education.
Helping People Since 1993
In 1993 Christine left full time teaching and worked as a part time University Lecturer, while setting up a Private Practice in Counselling and Advanced Hypnotherapy. This coincided with being invited to become a member of a multi-disciplinary team at the Pain Relief Clinic, Northampton General Hospital (NGH) where she worked for 17 years. During this time Christine introduced Reiki at NGH, which is still available today however, primarily for oncology patients.
Christine served a five-year teaching apprenticeship with Australian Reiki Master Barbara McGregor, travelling and teaching worldwide. In June 2001 at a Reiki Retreat in Borneo, Barabara McGregor publicly appointed Christine Gould as the second Reiki Master Teacher she had initiated. This was a momentous occasion especially as it was shared with one hundred and thirty-three fellow Advanced Reiki Practitioners from all over the world.
In 2003 Christine undertook an intensive Reiki Master Training Programme with John Harvey Gray in USA which made her fifth in line to Dr Usui. It was a privilege to spend time with John Harvey and his wife Lourdes Gray at their beautiful, tranquil, lakeside home in New England.
During her Reiki career, Christine has taught Reiki in London, Hertfordshire, Birmingham, Northampton, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and numerous states of Australia.
Since 2009 Christine was involved with The Dunstone Bennett Complementary Health Centre (DB Centre), part of the former Facefax Association Charity, established in 2005. Working closely with medical professionals at NGH and Macmillan, the DB Centre provided support for anyone in Northamptonshire affected by cancer regardless of whether patients, family, friends, carers or healthcare professionals.
Initially Christine offered her Reiki and Counselling skills. She also led a team of therapists who supported oncology patients and their families attending the Children’s Outpatients Department at NGH. In 2013 Christine became the voluntary Manager of the DB Centre where she remained until the long-awaited Maggie Centre opened at NGH in October 2025. This coincided with the planned closure of the Facefax Association Charity and DB Centre.
Reiki: Energy Medicine for Health and Wellbeing
With more time available, Christine finally completed the eagerly awaited book, ‘Reiki: Energy Medicine for Health and Wellbeing’ which is due to be published in the summer of 2026. This is the first of several books planned, along with other Reiki resources.
